SPRING UP

ABOUT
What does collective liberation look like in practice? Members of our collective have spent decades pursuing freedom through study and practice inside numerous movements, nonprofits, and academic institutions. This highly customized consulting cohort invites you to invest in the leadership of your team and build relationships with values aligned peers. Our team of transformative justice practitioners and liberatory facilitators has been supporting organizations like yours in building stronger infrastructure around conflict and harm, moving from shared values to tangible practices, and getting better at task and relational accountability for many years. We have also been practicing shared leadership together in our worker co-op. To learn more about our team and our background, visit www.timetospringup.org.

THE COHORT PROGRAM
Is your team ready to get free together by implementing liberatory collaboration practices?
This series is hosted over 6 months, bringing together leaders and decision makers from up to 6 values-aligned organizations to learn from Spring Up and each other about how to practice sharing power and tackling conflict generatively within your teams and programs. This experience will invite 2-6 of your team members to learn, practice, and design new systems and tools to operationalize your values, including guidance and support sharing back with the rest of your team or community.
Apply to be in the 2025 summer/fall program by April 1st at 5 PM PT
Over the course of 6 months your team will:
-
Engage in learning alongside and from other movement leaders in full cohort sessions
-
Discuss and co-design in small group coaching sessions tailored to your groups needs with 2 paired Spring Up consultants
-
Deepen their understanding through independent assignments
-
Get hands on support through 1:1 coaching
-
Receive two reports synthesizing your progress including strengths, challenges, and next steps to implement your intentions coming out of the program.

“The team has had a resoundingly positive experience with the content. I have seen in myself and others ongoing reflection and dialogue/engagement with the concepts we've covered. I have also seen integration of the conflict and tension content in real time in recent differences of opinion and misalignments.”

Spring Up will be an accountability partner, trainer, and amplifier in your team’s efforts so that by the end of the 6 months you will have a strong toolkit and clear plan of action to implement what you have learned. By the end of the program, you will also have initial drafts of practices, policies, or systems for your team to implement based on your organization's priorities; these could include but are not limited to strategies to:
-
Build shared language with one another during onboarding
-
Address conflict generatively
-
Share feedback with each other
-
Practice accountability with yourselves, each other, and the communities you serve
-
Address harm non-punitively
“I have grown so much as a leader through this program! I have been challenged to see the power I hold to shape my team culture even though I am not a manager, and I have developed much deeper relationships with my colleagues who participated in this program alongside me even though we work in different departments. It’s incredible to look back and see how much of a difference these 6 months have had in my role on the team and my perception of myself and my power!”
